Services and Cost

Dr. Young can help support your goals for your pet’s behavior in several different ways. To maximize her availability, there are different qualifications for each service. Dr. Young strongly believes in a team-based approach for behavior support, thus some services require the cooperation of another qualified professional.

  • After you submit a detailed case history, you will establish a legal veterinary-client-patient relationship with Dr. Young in person, and then rule out medical problems and explore helpful medications, following up with virtual meetings. Complimentary veterinary care is provided on a case-by-case basis.

Due to limited availability of veterinarians in general, and further, of vets that have special interest in considering behavior, there are certain qualifications that a client needs to meet in order to schedule with Dr. Young.

Prospective clients must be currently or have in the past 12 months worked with a credentialed behavior professional. This ensures that their pet's response to appropriate behavior modification techniques has been evaluated. For a list of appropriate credentials for behavior professionals, look here.

Prospective clients must have been referred by a behavior consultant or veterinarian and should not reach out to Dr. Young as a first-line intervention for problematic behavior.

    See below for costs.

  • After you submit a detailed case history, Dr. Young will review the materials and provide a written report with insight and suggestions to your primary care vet. You will not establish a legal veterinary-client-patient relationship for direct contact with Dr. Young regarding medication adjustments, which will be handled with the primary care vet.

You must be referred by your veterinarian specifically for this service to ensure they consent to receive and use Dr. Young's recommendations.

  • After you submit your pet's veterinary records and standardized set of movement videos, Dr. Young will provide you a written report of observations to help guide your degree of suspicion that a physical underlying cause may be contributing to your pet's behavior.

You may request this service at any time without referral. You will not have a legal veterinary-client-patient relationship with Dr. Young, which means there will be no official diagnosis or treatment plans provided. You may use the report to help inform your primary care veterinarian for the purposes of diagnosis and treatment.
