Building Better Health and Behavior

Micaela Young is a veterinarian and certified professional dog trainer.

She strives to bring quality medical care to pets who struggle with fear, anxiety, stress, and problem behaviors. Since 2012, she has been working to bridge the gap between physical health and psychological well-being in pets. Early in her veterinary career, she noticed that many pets were suffering emotionally during the process of veterinarians trying to deliver care, and that veterinary team members suffered for this as well. This struggle can often be eliminated with patience and effective communication

Micaela aims to deliver care thoughtfully, so that no patient is set up to learn to be afraid of the process. For years, all over the country, large zoo animals have been taught to cooperate with their care, and there is no reason we can’t treat our pets with the same consideration.

She has earned Elite Fear Free Certification as a commitment to the kind of care she will provide.
